Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Pioneer SA-900. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Pioneer SA-900 power supply board, amplifier board, filter board, control board, phono EQ board, and mic board, plus it includes replacements for the 4 chassis-mounted capacitors. This does not include new fuses or output transistors. The correct replacement output transistors are four MJ21196G (replaces 2SD218), available here. Please do not buy any of the Chinese output transistors listed on eBay--these are counterfeit and will damage your amp. A number of these SA-900 amps have blown up over the years, and if yours is blowing fuses then this kit will probably not fix that. The kit can help you fix it, but you will probably need to replace some or all of the output transistors, as well as some other amp board transistors and probably resistors that are not in the kit. I can help you with that--it's not that bad unless someone has already hacked up the amp board. This kit includes the following: Power Supply Board: 2 capacitors5 diodes (1 zener)3 transistors Amplifier Board: 11 capacitors2 transistors4 trimmers Filter Board: 11 capacitors6 transistors Control Amp Board: 11 capacitors4 transistors Phono EQ Board: 7 capacitors6 transistors Mic Board: 8 capacitors2 transistors 4 new capacitors to replace the old chassis-mount caps 1 clamp (to assist in replacing the largest chassis-mount cap)Instructions The kit for each board is bagged individually to make things easier. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. The capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Epcos, and Wima film caps at the same uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings, and the transistors are the correct Fairchild/Onsemi subs for the original transistors. The trimmers are double the original values--the 50k ohm trimmers are replaced with 100k ohm and the 50 ohm are replaced with 100 ohm. The old trimmers age very poorly and are usually not able to adjust enough to get the DC balance and bias voltages correct, so the trimmer values need to be doubled. For the four chassis-mount capacitors, the two 2200 uf caps are replaced with new 2200 uf caps that fit the old clamps. The old 470 uf cap is removed, and the replacement is wired in directly underneath the chassis. The old 3300 uf cap is removed, and it is replaced with the new much smaller 3300 uf 100v cap, which is installed in the new clamp where the old 470 uf cap was located. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding an amplifier is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $10, and international is $28. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 13 different values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, and more. Just use "add to cart" on everything you want and then check out for combined shipping.
